Celebration of Italy’s 150th anniversary of its unification hasn’t been so much better as Maserati unveiled their special edition GranTurismo S Limited Edition at the 2011 Bologna Motor Show to pay homage to this special year. To date, several other Italian carmakers have paid tribute to this celebration including Lamborghini with its Gallado Tricolore and Ferrari with its 150 Italia named Formula 1 car. The production of Gran Turismo S will be limited to only 12 units and only available exclusively in Italy.
Talking about the exterior, it is coated in Sebring Blue paint in a matte finish. Fitted with carbon fiber elements, the exterior is also furhter enhanced with a set of 20-inch alloy wheels and aluminum brake calipers.
Inside, there’s a treatment of carbon fiber trim surrounding the instrument. Alcantara sport seats are also boldly highlighted and no forgetting a tradition commemorative plaque in tribute to Italy’s 150th unification at the center console together with the official number of the model.
The Limited Edition is equipped with the same 4.7 liter V8 0f a standard GranTurismo S that is capable of producing 444 hp and an acceleration figure that suggest 0 to 100 km/h in4.9 seconds with a top speed of 294.5 edition
