Supercharging Toyota's GT86

Tetsu Tada, GT 86's chief engineer has confirmed the long-awaited high performance edition car is already well past the consideration stage. Toyota's in-house tuning division, TRD is given the trust to evaluate the car which is now already out on the road a test car. Putting a supercharger into the high revving engine of GT 86 is actually an ingenious solution to boost up the performance without increasing the engine size and the throttle response wouldn't be disappointing as a turbocharger  might cause.

Talking about GT 86
The original "less beast" GT 86 is in fact undeniably a notorious coupe. Being displayed at 2012 Tokyo Motor Show several days ago, it is a bold statement fo Toyota of proving that they are very serious about this monster. It is equipped with the latest machinery developed together with Subaru that could accelerate 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds and would achieve a top speed figure of 230 km/h. In addition to that, the 2.0 liter boxer engine also could generate 197 hp at 7000 rpm and a maximum torque of 205 Nm at  6600 rpm.

GT 86 is clearly sportier compared to Subaru's BRZ. With a more sporty detailing such as lower front lid and the presence of a spoiler, this GT 86's sporty attention is further enhanced with a more dynamic front and rear lights design.
